The hotel rooms were quite a walk from the entrance and car park; although comfortable, they needed a renovation with issues like a cracked washbasin, deteriorating paint, and no power point near the bed. The veranda was dirty, and the concrete edging was crumbling, giving a tired and basic appearance that did not live up to the Mercure name.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with easy access to shopping centers and the Douglas Mountain Bike Reserve. The rooms were below average and not a great value for money, lacking cleanliness and being quite old. Staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist us during our stay, notably moving us to another room promptly. The dining experience was the only highlight with a wide selection of food available, receiving a perfect score.
